‘No one sees a flower, really’
Duoshow with Ragnhild Nes
Galleri Duer, Oslo
This exhibition marks the first duo show by Ragnhild Nes (NO) and Lisette van Hoogenhuyze (NL)
through letters, conversations, and meetups, most recently by a trip to Sicily, they sketched volcanoes, wandered landscapes soaked in sunlight and myth.
Both artists work through layered practices where writing, colour, and their surroundings play a crucial
role in shaping what unfolds on the blank surface. Nes focuses on abstract painting, drawing and sculpture,
while van Hoogenhuyze works more figuratively with drawing, textiles, ceramics and more.
Despite differences in form, their works share a deep sensitivity to process, art historical references, and
the language of Color.
The exhibition title is borrowed from Georgia O’Keeffes quote : «Nobody sees a flower - really - it is so
small it takes time - we haven't time - and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time."

Nieuwe lijnen: Tussen vriendschap en vereniging.
Villa Mondriaan

Brasil series - works on paper
In December 2024 I went on a residency in São Paulo, Brasil. At this residency I made a series of drawings. These drawings formed the base of the visual research I had done for my solo presentation at Art Rotterdam 2025, where I was represented by gallery Van Fanny Freytag.
